Hey!!! And thank you for visiting my page. After taking classes here in New Orleans I started making jewelry with the intention of having a hobby that would be a process driven stress reliever. My great Aunt Ruby, passed away and left me some of the most beautiful pieces that she had from the 60s-90s, some pieces were not in good shape so along with the classes I was taking, I made it a mission to re use and modify her jewelry to wear and to send it back into the world. I prefer to make jewelry in solitude and incorporate my love for mid century modern shapes and materials so I started sourcing vintage components that I could make in my own style, which is still evolving. By day, I work as an arts administrator but I also like to costume and just hang out with my family and friends. I do this on the side to make a little mad money so that I can buy snacks, alcohol and craft stuff and let’s be real, a ton of stuff off Amazon (Thanks, Buzzfeed). I hope that you follow my shop to see my progress. If you see different components and would like a custom made piece, please hit me up and I will let you know if it’s possible. My photography skills need improving but if you message me with more questions, I’m generally responsive and will answer all that I can. I appreciate reviews but I understand if that’s not your thing. If you’re not satisfied with your jewelry, please give me a chance to get back in your good graces before your trash me! I’m trying!

Hello beautiful beings, my name is Desirée. I have been led to get back to nature, back to my roots. In the last few years I have been actively learning about all that Mother Earth has to offer us in the way of healing ourselves naturally. As I journey through life, I am learning our Creator has provided and blessed us with everything we need to live a healthy, vibrant life and I am truly grateful! I was first drawn to Crystals, amazed that they offer something even more valuable then their beauty.... Crystals offer healing, balance, and awareness!!! They vibrate frequencies that match nature, our moods and higher realms that bring us intune with the Creator, they even open our awareness to our own gifts and abilities. As I began choosing crystals, I found that specific stones and crystals like Clear Quartz and Rose Quartz helped with my mood, Fluorite with concentration and Amethyst for a more purposeful meditation. Shungite took away persistent headaches that I'd been experiencing and Selenite, my favorite, aided in my spiritual growth and opened a connection to God that I could physically feel. So, I started keeping them on me, in various places and that worked some of the time, but they would fall out, so I needed a better way of keeping them near me throughout my day. I learned of wire wrapping and decided to give it a go and a new love was born! It was relaxing, satisfying, a source of meditation as I wrapped each crystal with a purpose, for a purpose!

The seed of DesiredKnits was planted in 2002 when a grandmother taught her granddaughter how to crochet her first potholder. Coming from generations of crafters in the art of crochet, knitting, and weaving, DesiredKnits is a manifestation of legacies of strong, creative, and Divine women, who walked through this world standing firm in their truth and their identity. As a woman and a Woman of Color, I have often struggled with feeling enough. Being good enough, brave enough, capable enough, etc. It wasn’t until my journey of learning to love myself and creating my own path to stand in my authenticity like the phenomenal women who came before me, that I was able to identify my value by breaking old beliefs through positive affirmations. Positive affirmations were introduced to me by a soulsister, who empowered me to begin speaking life and positivity over myself like I would a friend. “I AM” are the two most powerful words you can utter, because whatever comes after them connect to our inner beliefs about ourselves and will eventually be reflected in our actions. With DesiredKnits, my goal is to create items that are inspired by positive affirmations to both cultivate a shift negative self talk that impacts our lives daily, and to empower others to see themselves as the light beams that they are and to continue to spread this light to others. I AM excited to share my craft and inspire a community of people to speak life over others as well as themselves.

When planning a vacation that involves a beach or a pool you always think of what swimsuit to pack. Here at Destination Swimwear we have customized swimsuits to fit any and every one of your future destinations. Hi there and thank you for visiting, my name is Racquel Simone, owner of DSWIM! I decided to create an online store for women to have a place where they can find unique crafted swimsuits. Along side the swimsuit line, I am also a serial traveler. That's how the name Destination Swimwear came about! I was inspired while landing in Puerto Rico when the flight attendant said "You have reached your final destination", every time my flight would land. The phrase always stirred feelings of excitement! The light bulb switched on in my head after receiving comments about my swimsuits on a traveling video to Jamaica I posted. I thought to myself I know how difficult it was for me to find the perfect swimsuit so why not start creating my own. Wherever you are traveling you take something with you. The style and material of each swimsuit are inspired by the many destinations that I have already visited or plan to visit that reflects the culture of the place. When designing the swimsuits I kept in mind that women wear swim tops as day-to-day wear so most of the swimsuits can be worn as crop tops! I hope that you are able to enjoy the swimsuits as much as I have creating them. Where to next?!

Hello, I'm Tola the founder of Detola and Geek, I design by hand all my award-winning statement lampshades, homeware and gifts from my home studio in Hertfordshire, UK. Image may contain: 2 people My African inspired handcrafted lampshades are my signature & best-selling products. They seem to be gaining quite a reputation, slowly becoming a movement (am told). I tend to seek out eye-catching African inspired design prints which may be bold, geometric, retro, tribal, botanical, mid-century modern or even geeky too! They are certainly a quick & easy way to inject splashes of colour into your spaces. At the moment I’m obsessed with giving my lampshades alternative linings on the inside like metallic gold or bronze as well as transparent ones too. I love commissions, special projects, collaborations, especially partnering with interior designers /stylists, property developers, home-stagers architects. I also work with Film Sets & Stage Designers.

This just simply means, love YOU and be YOUR OWN FABULOUS, BEAUTIFUL SELF as boldly and unapologetically as you can be! DFY is an international brand, specializing in funky handcrafted earcandy and accessories. DFY Creative is the brainchild of Dr. Vallen J. Cordon, an educator and artisan. Dr. Val began her earring artistry in 2014 as a hobby when she discovered that she could create earrings using cardboard and deconstructed jewelry. Friends and family were immediately impressed by her new-found gift and began purchasing her creations. She then began selling her creations at various local events. After a brief hiatus, Dr. Val returned to jewelry artistry, now using wood as her main material, and opened her first online shop, Fab Creations Earcandy, in July 2015. By divine inspiration, she made the final name change to her shop in 2016 and DFY Creative was born. In April 2016, Dr. Val was featured as one of 15 Successful African American Entrepreneurs on Etsy by Small Business Trends in April 2016. As of January 2018, DFY Creative has customers in the US, Scotland, Great Britain, France, Finland, Italy, Denmark, and South Africa. With her partner, her hubby Gary (a web and software developer), Dr. Val has continued to grow her once hobby.
