Over the last two decades Sammy Aki has worked within British luxury menswear, starting off in flagship stores including Harvey Nichols, Reiss, and Thomas Pink. After completing her BA in Spanish and Management she worked in the fashion teams at Esquire, whilst furthering her studies at The London College of Fashion, leading to a career as a stylist and producer. Always at the forefront of bespoke menswear Sammy worked with Anda Rowland (Anderson and Sheppard) to produce the critically acclaimed English Gentleman series created by Jo Levin (GQ). The presentations, the largest in the menswear world, showcased the best of Savile Row and St James tailoring and established the "blueprint" for men's fashion events. With over 25 participating bespoke firms, whose work spans four centuries, collaborations included; Anderson & Sheppard, Chittleborough and Morgan, Ede & Ravenscroft, Edward Sexton, Edward Green, Emma Willis, G.J. Cleverley, Globe-Trotter, Henry Poole, James Lock & Co, John Lobb, Richard Anderson, Richard James Bespoke, Turnbull & Asser amongst others. Prior to this Sammy was hired to develop, launch and manage Chucs, a luxury swimwear and lifestyle brand. She managed the design and concept of the flagship retail space and wholesale accounts including: Mr Porter, with Pop ups in Harrods and Hotel Du Cap. Sammy continues her work in the swimwear arena with award winning, vibrant beachwear brand Ókun. The African inspired beachwear has caught the attention of celebrities and key international retailers including United Arrows Tokyo, La Rinascente Milan, Le Bon Marche Paris, Luisaviaroma Florence, Matches and Browns London. Whilst at Kilgour, Savile Row Sammy produced the RTW collections developing her technical understanding of fabric and garment construction. After Kilgour she spent some time as the PR Manager for the UK's oldest Bridal brand. This gave her fundamental insight into the industry and it also showed Sammy someone had been forgotten - the Groom.
