Centralising the beauty of WOC, sisterhood and self-care. Most of Rochelle’s early paintings were inspired by the strong, wise, yet gentle women that surrounded her whilst growing up. She felt these women needed more representation. Rochelle now creates a collection of Illustrations, Paintings and accessories centralising the freedom and free expression of WOC, Sisterhood & Self-care. The art work explores themes of individuality, friendship, love, and healing. Rochelle uses a variety of oil painting techniques and digital illustrations to bring her creations to life. Her work is available as original Canvas Paintings, Prints and Tote bags. “I remember studying Art for years and rarely coming across Art that resonated with me more than the work I currently create now. Art is supposed to make you feel something, it’s supposed to ‘hit home’ and carry you to another place. When I teach, my only aim is for people to leave with a work of Art that truly means something to them. It’s these special moments and creations that we will remember the most.

She’s been called “The Pretty Artist.” Professional art creator and painter Tiffanie Anderson knows the benefit of hard work, dedication and the power of putting blood, sweat and tears into a labor of love. She spent years painting entertainers and athletes and she continues to broaden her horizons by developing new ways to create art for the famous. The 28-year-old went from being in the popular girls group Girlicious (formed by Robin Antin of the Pussycat Dolls) when she was just 21 to a highly-regarded artist, painting for athletes such as boxer Floyd Mayweather to actor and singer Ray J — Anderson’s first celebrity client.

Tiffany B Chanel

Women Owned
Self-taught artist and educator Tiffany B Chanel is driven by passion and purpose. Through her kaleidoscopic portraiture, she depicts pop icons and everyday people with unapologetic vibrancy, and aims illuminate the inner beauty within each of her subjects. She is inspired by faces, and aims to make the subject come alive on canvas, conveying a degree of realism forcing the viewer to be moved by feeling. Initially, Tiffany began her artistic career in 2012 designing custom-painted sneakers, before shifting her focus toward fine art portraiture. After an instagram repost by Tamara Mowry resulted in one of her works going viral, Tiffany garnered the attention of numerous collectors and immersed herself in New York’s gallery scene. Based out of her Bedford Stuyvesant in-home studio (Studio 422), Tiffany leads monthly “Beyond the Layout” paint-and-sip sessions and is hired by local nonprofits, churches, and schools to facilitate professional development classes for children and adults. Works have been commissioned for celebrities Aisha Hinds, DJ D-Nice, Ava DuVernay and Pam Oliver, as well as brand names such as ESPN, TBS, and cultural tastemakers including Carol’s Daughter CEO Lisa Price. Her artwork has been featured in The Guardian, Essence, Afropunk, News 12, The Epoch Times, CBS, HBO and Madison Square Garden.

Vessna Scheff

My name is Vessna Scheff. I am an artist based in Philadelphia, PA. Through my art, I reclaim who I am, what I have to say, and how I want to say it. Art, has always been my space of freedom. I was quiet growing up but learned that I could be much louder through singing. Singing allowed me to step into my voice - my power - and to encourage others to live boldly, challenge structures, and create experiences that challenge our fears, craft our freedom and nurture our empowerment. Through the delicate and bold power of water, I paint emotive abstract and portrait pieces which depict the power of people and nature. We are all bodies of water and together, we create waves of change.

Tracey always dreamed of making movies. She studied video production at Specs Howard School of Media Arts and upon graduation quickly dove into the world of writing for the screen big and small. She is the co-writer and producer of festival favorite “Annabelle & Bear” and the co-writer, producer and director of “Open City,” a narrative short that uses her unique insight to explore the unknown every day of Detroit’s new urban landscape. Her career in the arts is a new development, but not totally unexpected. Her family is full of artists, writers, crafters, and makers. Working with pigments, inks, and watercolor is a natural extension of her creativity, and a physical manifestation of the colorful graphic designs she’s been making for fun (and profit) going on a decade. Tracey brings a filmic approach to working on each piece; every color and texture tells a story, and each painting is a character with a unique name. If you know her well, she may just name a piece after you... if you’re a powerful, take no sh*t woman, that is.

My Blessed Hands

I'm MyAsia Reid, 31 years old. I was born, raised, in Philadelphia, PA, but currently reside in Houston Texas. In 2011, I received my Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Elizabeth City State University. During the summer of June until August 2011, I interned at the National Aeronautics Space Administration (NASA) in Greenbelt Maryland. Once my internship ended I had to receive emergency heart surgery due to having irregular heartbeats at 268 BPM. I was diagnosed with Atrial Tachycardia. After the 1st failed surgery, and then a second successful one, while on bed rest I vividly remember having a dream while on bed rest that I was in Cosmetology School. The next day, I decided to apply. Not knowing where it would take me, I finished Cosmetology School in 2012 and worked in a few salons before taking a break to brand and market myself. In 2013, I decided to take a year to serve inner-city youth at Youth Build Charter school where I taught Web Design and Graphic Design to High School Drop-In Seniors. My desire has always been to focus on my passions which is using my gifts to bring glory to God while impacting and encouraging others to do the same. In early 2014, Graphic Design became my main focus. Creating designs proficiently to help companies advertise and promote their various events and projects, including designing logos, business cards, brochures, t shirt design etc. In the last few months of 2014, I began to seek God on leading my path towards continuing to encourage people on a daily basis while still having the opportunity to use my gifts. God spoke so clearly, and I started styling hair at Asanti Hair Studio from December 2014 until now. In the last 4 years, I have been able to travel to style hair in different states, network with others to help continually serve in my community, and still be able to encourage others while doing what I love. I even had the chance to style hair at the same Charter School, working as a Graphic Design Instructor. Now, how awesome is that! Along the way, in 2017, I decided to make some major health changes in losing weight. On that journey, I also discovered the leading cause of my scalp condition (seborrheic dermatitis} that I have battled with since birth. I was also able to lose more than my 20-pound goal weight and keep it off. In just one year, I was led by God to go back to school to study Holistic Nutrition, in order to gain the wisdom and knowledge needed to help others better to take back their life and live it to the full.

A card can bring a smile to anyone's face! I don't really remember how I got started making cards... I think the first cards I created were Christmas cards for my family because I couldn't afford to buy any. My first etsy shop was jewelry, but I never really found my niche. My second etsy shop was a paper shop started with my sister. This is my third and final shop and I'm still creating cards, but I'm on my own now and I love it. The more cards I make, the more I love the whole process of creating them. I love to find new techniques... embossing, heat embossing, die cutting, stamping or just creating in photoshop... I love it all. Creativity is life! Not a day goes by that I am not thinking about card making. I'm either watching youtube videos to learn a new technique, looking at different stamps or paper, or creating something. I get an idea in my head and off I go...cutting, stamping, embossing, writing or whatever else is needed to create something special. I'm now learning calligraphy so I can incorporate it into my creations. People pick up a card, and it instantly transports them to a happy place. Have you ever seen someone in the Hallmark store, crying? or laughing? Yeah, me too! My favorite thing to do is laugh, so I always start there. I also have a sweet personality, with a sometimes raunchy sense of humor. I've also done improv comedy, so my go to cards are usually funny or raunchy cards. We have become too digital. It's good to take a step back to earlier days and send an "old school" card to someone.
