I am fortunate to be able to do all of the things I am passionate about on a daily basis. My life is one of art and service. Hello beautiful beings, my name is Desirée. I have been led to get back to nature, back to my roots. In the last few years I have been actively learning about all that Mother Earth has to offer us in the way of healing ourselves naturally. As I journey through life, I am learning our Creator has provided and blessed us with everything we need to live a healthy, vibrant life and I am truly grateful! I was first drawn to Crystals, amazed that they offer something even more valuable then their beauty.... Crystals offer healing, balance, and awareness!!! They vibrate frequencies that match nature, our moods and higher realms that bring us intune with the Creator, they even open our awareness to our own gifts and abilities. As I began choosing crystals, I found that specific stones and crystals like Clear Quartz and Rose Quartz helped with my mood, Fluorite with concentration and Amethyst for a more purposeful meditation. Shungite took away persistent headaches that I'd been experiencing and Selenite, my favorite, aided in my spiritual growth and opened a connection to God that I could physically feel. So, I started keeping them on me, in various places and that worked some of the time, but they would fall out, so I needed a better way of keeping them near me throughout my day. I learned of wire wrapping and decided to give it a go and a new love was born! It was relaxing, satisfying, a source of meditation as I wrapped each crystal with a purpose, for a purpose!

Greetings! Thanks for stopping by and checking out my Bow Ties. I began making ties for myself and with the encouragement of others, it has blossomed into me being able to offer my bow ties to you. I make everything by hand. I am truly not a tailor or one that is into Haberdashery. I am merely a guy who enjoys bow ties and makes extras to sell. My sewing isn't always perfect, but the ties always look good. :) Each bow tie order will include instructions on how to tie a bow tie.

Chained to a desk I lovingly call, "Paperwork Island", I discovered I was losing myself piece by piece, daily. I seemed to have lost my passion, vision and spark. I had seen enough white pieces of paper to make me go mad!!! One stressful afternoon I went into my creative space and dug up some old works... 5 years prior I had made some very casually cute pendants on leather cording. So out of desperation for escape from "Paperwork Island", I began fashioning of set color matching earrings. Knowing I didn't have any matching beads I decided to mix shapes of the same and colors, leaning on my monochromatic style. And just like that, I found myself back into design again. My background before becoming a 'Mama', is in handbag design. I did some very unique stuff for 10 years and got some really great reviews as well as sales. In 2012 I hit a wall with my job and left my full time employment to concentrate on my craft... well ba-da-bing ba-da-boom, right at the beginning of my career change I found out I was going to have the best gift I could ever get, my son. His birth put everything, even me, on hold until now! I'm back to doing what I love, designing! My vision for this line of jewelry is to be exactly unusual, unique, asymmetric as well as monochromatic. I feel a freedom when I am designing each piece. Like I found its match or mate but they are altogether different. Like life. I haven't quite figured out how I will get back into the accessory handbag portion just yet but this I know I definitely handle and give my best to.

Los Angeles Area Jewelry Artist I almost can't remember how I got started, but I know I've had a love affair with beads for over 2 decades. Not only do I love making jewelry, I love when others enjoy my artwork. I often joke to friends that I sell jewelry so that I can buy more supplies to make more. In a way, it's very true. It's all about the love of creating with different shapes and colors and all things shiny! I only hope that each piece I make goes to someone who loves it as much as I do, and that I can do this for a good long time.

Here is our story and how we are building our business, Just imagine two sisters who have a vision for a business but not talking to each other because of misunderstanding because there is no communication between the two but just assumptions. Something brings them back together to help rebuild their sister relationship and they move forward with rebuilding their relationship and building a business. Understanding that building a business and rebuilding their sister relationship is all one. Melanated Eden is our baby and we want to share our baby with you. We are growing our business and our relationship. We appreciate each and ever customer. We appreciate each family member, friend and person we meet on the street. Creating little beautiful pieces of art, one bead at a time. I started my shop by thinking of creative ways to make jewelry that not only would be sturdier than pieces I would find in most fashion department stores, but also pieces that have a connection to an actual person with a story. I also wanted to make pieces that could be handed down lasting for generations. My wire weaving is something that I'm especially proud of. I've become a bit obsessed with it. I find it relaxing to create these pieces, I find that overcoming breast cancer last year was something that truly inspired me to not put my creative passions on the back burner any longer. I'm creating my dream job one piece at a time!

Hi Etsy Family! Welcome to the Meraki Handcraft Shop. Thank you for checking out some of our custom designs, we are always thinking of items to add to our shop so be on the lookout for new additions. We are a family of makers and have loved styling, designing, constructing, and packing the handcrafted items we create. A little about us...my husband and I are both engineers - we certainly are both creatives and problem-solvers. I am also an educator, directing a Fab Lab at an all-girls K-12 school - another amazing opportunity to design and create. We have two "assistants," Parker and Evan, who love to help us style and package our designs. We started making clutches for holiday gifts a couple of years ago and fell in love! I come from a family of sewing/knitting/crocheting experts, so maybe it was always in my blood. We chose the name "Meraki," which is a Greek work used to describe doing something with soul, creativity, and love. The items we create are certainly made with soul, creativity, and love. We hope you think so as well.

My handcrafted jewelry is the result of the impressions I've experienced from the cities, people and things I've encountered around the world. After experiencing a job layoff and through the encouragement of a friend, in Spring of 2012 I began to transform my jewelry hobby into a small business Now, I take the flag colors of countries I've visited, the bead-making techniques I learned as a Peace Corps Volunteer in South Africa, and current trends in European leather jewelry components to make leather, fabric & beaded bracelets that will be a statement piece wherever you go.
