Jomo's furniture incorporates a deep appreciation for African art and culture and infuses his heritage into contemporary product designs such as chairs and tables, and other home furnishings to offer an alternative to current styles and trends and believes the market is ripe for disruption. Jomo displayed his first series Berchuma in collaboration with his childhood friend Henock and design partner Adiskidan at the Architectural Home Design Show in New York in March of 2004. After attempting to introduce contemporary African furniture into the mainstream market, Jomo stepped away in 2008 to reflect and pursue other design careers but a re-surging interest in Ethnic and African design has finally put Jomo's African furniture design back on the map with shows in 4 continents in a span of less than two years.
