I love God 1st, my family, helping people, and being creative. I believe my creative ability is a gift from God. I love sharing my creation with the world. I have been creating unique items for over 30 years, and everything I create I put time and love into it. I have always love fashion as far as I can remember. My mother would take me clothes shopping all the time, and I just always love looking at fashion, and putting it on. I like anything to do with fashion, hair, makeup, shoes, handbags, and nails. Also I love coming up with my own styles, that total look different from any one else. Fashion will all ways be in my blood. I believe when you wear different pieces of fashion it make you feel different, it makes you feel good. You know what I mean ladies, when you get your hair done, your nails, put on your makeup, and put on that new pair of shoes that match the cute outfit you just purchase. Wow! you feel good. Sammie & Dannie is a family owned vintage boutique in Phoenix offering clothing, accessories, furniture, and home goods. We’re known for having timeless pieces all handpicked by us! Whether you’re looking to be sophisticated or to dress yourself down, we got you covered. We even have furniture too! Our name comes from us, sisters sharing clothes. Growing up with a single mom, we shared a lot of clothes and often shopped second hand. As we got older our mother taught us about sustainability and fashion. Rather than throwing clothing into a landfill, garments can be recycled, repaired, reused or redesigned. We value sustainable fashion and sisterhood! The phrase “it takes a village” came in full effect growing up with a single parent. There are so many women that supported us along the way, we consider these women our sisters. Sammie and Dannie wouldn’t be where it is today without the help of others. So while educating and encouraging people about sustainable fashion, we also hope to be outlet for women. We offer a fun intimate shopping experience where people feel inspired not just with their style, but in life!

She The Collection launched November 3rd, 2014 by Carmen Alexandra. After years of blogging and recycling fashion Carmen decided to produce the clothing that she recieved numerous inquiries about selling. Our signature cut at the bottom or incorperated into designs came from a DIY of a leather skirt made in 2013, the cut was an accident as she was aiming for a different style and got a little scissor friendly our signature was born. After being inspired by current trends but discouraged by the fit of most clothing She The Collection's design process started. She The Collection is for the modern woman, the curvy, girly, edgy, and trendy girl of the current generation. "I took a leap of faith to be where I am, and I am forever blessed grateful to be self employed and doing what I love. I think life is way too short to waste working a job that you don't like or anything that makes you unhappy. You have to make yourself happy and proud in everything that you do, feed your soul and live your best life. The Sibahle Collection is a product of Bounce Essentials Africa, founded by Caroline Hlahla and Khulile Vilakazi-Ofosu in 2016. Sibahle is a Zulu word that means “We are beautiful”. The Sibahle Collection was born from the need to encourage our black children to be comfortable in their own skin! The first 2 dolls under this collection, i.e. Nobuhle (meaning the one that represents beauty in Zulu) and Bontle (meaning beauty in Sotho) have features that resemble that of an African child. The dolls smell of vanilla and have typical 4C Afro hair. Our hope with these dolls is that they can teach our black children how to care for their own natural hair from a young age as well as grow up being affirmed and taking pride in being African! The world is diverse, with people of different races. South Africa in particular, is affectionately known as the Rainbow Nation. We want every child to grow up aware of the beautiful and rich diversity that South Africa and the world at large has to offer. We are hoping with the addition of the “Rainbow Nation” Collection, we will teach children of all races to appreciate and embrace diversity.

Domonique is a contemporary pop artist from Pomona, California. She creates energetic portraits that defy traditional pictorial representations. As an illustrator, she works from the ground up, layering markers and acrylic strokes until she carves out a colorful portrait. Domonique’s art is a celebration of diversity. Her portraits showcase men and women of color, so people can see a depiction of their identity and feel empowered.

My name is Omobola (but my author name is Simisayo Brownstone), and I am the CEO and founder of Teni & Tayo Creations. We produce toys, books, apparel, workshops and more for kids with a pinch of African influence. ? ? ? Up until a few years ago, I never really thought of myself as the type to start a business. I was born and raised in Nigeria and was always surrounded by people that looked like me, but now I live in Los Angeles California and I am raising my two daughters in an area where we are a minority. As my daughters got older, they started to notice how different they looked from their friends. Even the TV shows they loved so much lacked representation. I wanted to reassure them that they were beautiful just the way they are, so I began to be more deliberate about the things I bought for them. I wanted to surround them with books, toys and more that represented their beauty and culture, but there weren’t a lot of good options available. And when I tried to find representation in the things my daughters were particularly interested in – things like princesses, fairies and superheroes – it was even harder to find options. That’s when I decided to start something on my own, and that’s how my first character, Feyi Fay, was born. Feyi Fay is a Nigerian superhero fairy who travels the world helping kids solve their everyday problems from bullying to making friends. I later added a character called Captain Nosa to represent the boys. ? ? ? My goal with Teni & Tayo creations is to create a wide range of everyday products for kids, from pencil cases to underwear, and maybe even a TV show one day! I hope that these products appeal to children from all backgrounds and ethnic groups, while at the same time allowing black and African children to feel more seen, empowered, handsome, proud and eager to embrace their natural beauty.
