An average widowed mom trying to build a movement! Join us! I am a mom, worker bee and average Joette who has a lot of skin sensitivities and my kids have inherited that legacy. After trying various products and wasting lots of money on expensive soaps, lotions, oils etc I decided to study herbology and make my own. My concept is quality ingredients. Innovative packaging and unique ideas. I love history, pop culture and having fun. We pride ourselves on our customer service and our ability to foster our customer base here and on facebook. I have been an avid shea butter user for YEARS; lathering my entire face and body, nightly. Creating my own formula has been an exciting, fulfilling, and very personal venture. I wanted my product to be used on all ages and skin tones, easily spread, and leave the skin smelling and feeling amazing.

Made with fewer than ten ingredients from tropical destinations, these products will nurture your skin. I'm a Southern girl at heart and by heritage with parents and ancestors born in rural Georgia. But I was born up North in a community with other Southerns that migrated from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi and other southern locations deemed less desirable at the time. We lived off the land growing fruits and vegetables in our backyard and their was a huge community garden. We also canned for fresh eating during winter months. It was in this environment that I learned the importance of faith, family, and community. Imagine my surprise when I learned I'm the third generation to make soap in the family. While my ancestors needs were purely utilitarian, mine are some what the same but different. There are so many harmful chemicals and additives in skincare that didn't exist when I was growing up. I want to return to the pure and simple of skincare. When you washed your face with soap and water. When I moved to coastal Florida I discovered the power and calm of the ocean, the joy of coastal living, and what fresh, clean air, and the sea spray can do for your skin. As a soapmaker with out direction, Island Fresh Skincare was defined from my morning strolls on the beach. To the creator and my ancestors I say thank you for the gifts. Crafting began for me as a child when my grandmother gave me a potholder loom. The loom was a match that started the fire in me to become a handmade artisan.

I have always enjoyed creating and mixing products at home. It has become a very big hobby of mine. I’ve always searched for the best natural ingredients to use on my hair and body that feel good, smell good, and most importantly, aren’t harmful. I’ve found the perfect mix and am so excited to share it with you all. As for the name: The name NikArt comes from some wonderful childhood memories. That name was my first AOL screen name that my mother helped me come up with . The name is a combination of my nick name and my late father’s first name. It reminds me of my parents and the wonderful memories and opportunities that they provided for me and my sister.I hope that you enjoy these products just as much as I do. Bace started in 2017 a small idea between my mother and myself. She enjoyed baths and I enjoyed making bath products. Shortly after we started the company, my mother became really ill and I closed the business. She passed in December of 2018. Losing my mother, my support, took a toll on me and I fell into a deep depression. After trying hemp and cbd products I decided to add those ingredients to my products, because they worked well for me. In October 2019, I relaunched with a new name, new brand, and new items in memory of my mother's love of baths. Currently, Bace is ran by myself and my oldest daughter. All products have hemp seed oil in them with the exception of shower steamers. Bace CBD line currently offers lotions, body wash, and bath bombs. Please contact me directly for CBD products.

Soapy Faith was created during a time, when we were going through personal life challenges. Going back to our roots of creating bath & body products, we decided to focus back on soap, an item for everyday cleansing, not only for physical cleansing but to inspire it's user to have faith, and push through when times are not always perfect. Soapy Faith is small, and in process of growing. We’re excited to see where this journey will take us, as we walk by faith and not by sight!

What Started as a way to provide relief for our family's overly sensitive skin had turned into an incredible line of hand crafted products for the bath, body and home. We've named our company Black Kettle in homage to the "old school" soap makers that came before us, cooking up large batches of soap for their families in large cast iron kettles. Like many soap pioneers we love sharing our small batch creations with our neighbors...only our neighborhood happens to be the whole world. I love that we have been able to help so many families with similar skin and allergy issues along the way. Our customers are the reason that we grow and get better each day.

My love affair with natural hair started 15 years ago. I remember really noticing the trend of African American women going "natural". So I thought, maybe I'll try going natural. So I did!! No more fearing the rain or a humid day, wrapping my hair every night or keeping every strand in place. All that sounded well and good but little did I know (like most novice naturalistas) I didn't have a clue on how to care for natural/curly hair. Little did I know natural hair needs lots of moisture, the right product for your particular texture and of course, some new hairstyles. For years, you're taught how to care for processed/permed hair, but curly hair...that's another story! So my search began, I tried them all, salon exclusives (outrageously priced) and dollar store brands (with my fingers crossed) and no luck. I could not get my hair to look like the picture on the bottle! Then I turned to various books and internet sites trying to learn what I can do to improve the quality of my hair and get those gorgeous defined curls. So after much researching, creating and experimenting I've come up with some wonderful shampoos, conditioners and other bath and body products. All of this led me to a few conclusions... *Natural products are better for your hair, body and the environment because YOU know what the ingredients are. *The reason my hair didn't look like the "lady on the bottle" was because of the alcohol content in over the counter products. It may last for a few weeks but after that my hair didn't respond anymore. *Everyone's hair texture is different and different things work for different people, there's no one size fits all for natural/curly hair. My products are derived from natural sources. I do not use any synthetic fragrances, mineral or petroleum oils, or animal products in the hair and body care items. Taking care of natural hair does not need to be complicated. It only requires consistency, natural sources and a little TLC. Let my products prove they are truly...Nothing but Natural!!!
