Inspired by her daughters, African-American business owner Ayanna Jackson developed Arbria, a line of organic homemade bath, body, and soy candle products. Ingredients and products tested on her friends and family. Her daughters’ names combined (Arianna, Brianna, and Brittney), formed the title, Arbria. Jackson has a passion for creating natural body butters and candles made with love. This passion came from the need to treat her children’s sensitive skin. She saw a way to follow her dreams and also make a living. Her very label is an encouragement to parents who make their kids their priority. It reassures them that dreams do come through. They are now advocates on why everyone should eat more vegetables. Their shared journey to health consciouness is what really led them to start Arrokah. They dedicate their services to health and restoration. The need to offer the world better choices in food and resources remains the drive behind Arrokah. Avalah is a premiere Black-owned business started by a visonary who wanted access to more healthful products. The founder, Alexzandra Denis, wanted to transform the industry. Denis realized beauty products are full of unhealthy and unnatural materials. She grew up in Brooklyn of Caribbean descent. Her mother always made sure Denis and her sister used natural products on their bodies and in their hair. According to Denis, Avalah has nothing she would not use herself. The company uses similar ingredients to some other black-owned skincare brands such as shea butter, coconut oil, and essential oils. But the brand also adds a unique twist with Himalayan sea salt. The main focus of Avalah is to provide customers a spa-like experience. The brand also wants to give the peace of mind of knowing the natural materials come from the Earth.

As a stuntwoman, it is part of Niahlah Hope’s job to maintain physical health and performance ability. She also has to have aesthetic beauty. To start such a brand, Hope had to be well informed about the body, how to fuel it, heal it, and maintain it. This African-American business owner has had her fair share of health scares. Her ailments have been both work and non-work related. They led to her deep love for learning more about the human body and what it needs to be healthy. Her stated goal is to inform others about what she has learned thus far. She also wants to improve their lives so that they, too, can emit beauty. How Bariki Got Started... Bariki Body Care started in 2007 in my tiny little kitchen in Seattle, WA. My oldest daughter, son & I have eczema and wanted to create products that were natural/organic/paraben free/sulfate free and was safe to use on our skin. I started researching a lot of different ingredients and the main one I use in all of our products is Shea Butter. Shea Butter is nourishing and is a good moisturizer all skin types whether you have oily or dry skin. All Bariki Body Care products are made with you in mind, cruelty free & vegan friendly.
