I've had the opportunity to create art for hundreds of people all over the world and I continue to do so. Theresia Kyalo is a multi-disciplinary artist and jewellery designer from Nairobi-Kenya. I find my voice and express myself through minimal art. Exploring interactions in daily life through the mediums of line drawing, metal work and film. Abstract shapes, figures, metal and textiles are my preferred mediums of expression. I pay attention to lines, symmetry and movement inviting the viewer to see a different art technique in diverse ways. “MY WORK IS MY PASSION. THE FACT THAT PEOPLE APPRECIATE IT ENOUGH TO PURCHASE IS JUST A BONUS TO ME. I NEVER PUT OUT ANYTHING THINKING ABOUT SALES. IT IS IMPORTANT BUT I DON’T GO WITH THAT MENTALITY FIRST. I DO STUFF THAT MAKES ME HAPPY FIRST.”

Tenbeete Solomon AKA Trap Bob is a visual artist, illustrator, and animator based in Washington, DC. She is known for her use of bold colors and gestures to convey both the humor and struggles of everyday life. Her work is socially conscious and frequently inspired by activism and community issues, with an aim to bridge the gap between her audience and her message. Her work can be found in both the digital space and within the community, from instagram gif stickers to permanent murals throughout DC. As the founder of Trap Bob World, LLC, a freelance design and product company, Tenbeete has worked with leading corporations, brands, and organizations including: Giphy, Pabst Blue Ribbon, Elizabeth Warren Campaign, BET, and Refinery 29. As Creative Director of women-centric creative collective, GIRLAAA, Tenbeete leads execution of all art design and exhibitions for events, promotional materials and other collaborations.

Kara Hinson is a visual artist based in Delaware. Her art prominently features representations of black women in a variety of medium including vivid, layered watercolor portraits and illustrative ink/digital drawings. Surrealistic colors create a dreamlike atmosphere in which her paintings focus on the diversity and strength of women. Often incorporating themes of nature, astrology and nostalgia, her work aims to offer inspiration and tranquility.

I created IIInflux in 2017 as a creative way to express my personality through product (So things may get a little random at times)! I'm the third Bobby in my family... hint the unique spelling of IIInflux. "Bringing Culture Home" is actually a double entendre! First, it represents having our interests reflected in home goods. More importantly It's a nod to the individuals from the culture that are getting opportunities to build off it. Initially started as a brand with pop-culture inspired home goods, made for individuals looking to fill their home with items that reflect their personal interests. Now you can find products ranging from apparel, accessories, and more. At the end of the day, IIInflux is Bringing Culture Home!!!

K’era desired to return to the art of creating by hand without the aid of digital and hi-tech tools. Her current mixed media work is based in an intuitive art practice. Letting go of her analytical/judging mind, each piece is a non-linear story woven together of found fragments from the world around her. Her collaged paintings include found paper sourced from magazines, newspapers and books as well as hand-painted paper along with her own mark-making. In addition to her collage work, K’era collaborates with one of the few remaining American mills to transform her multi-media pieces into colorful woven throw blankets, pillows and tapestries made of 100% hand-dyed cotton for home interiors. Cosy, casual and comfortable, the woven throws are an extension of K'era's affinity for textiles and functional art made for everyday use and enjoyment.

The Mitchell Black design team includes artists and luxury lifestyle enthusiasts who, together, create a collective design aesthetic embraced by hoteliers, boutique owners, interior designers, retailers and consumers worldwide. The melding of traditional art forms with contemporary lifestyle concepts sets the Mitchell Black Home accessories brand apart from the rest. Mitchell Black Home was founded in 2012 by Lynai Jones.

SampleHAUS got its start by creatively up-cycling interior design waste into eclectic home decor. While working at an interior design firm, I was always surrounded by beautiful fabrics and other materials that mostly ended up getting thrown away, for reasons as discontinuation or project surpluses. I decided to begin collecting these excess materials and that’s when SampleHAUS was born. With a background in Fine Art and Interior Architecture, Diana Adams found a way to combine her natural artistic talents with her respect for what the interior design industry is doing for creating more sustainable environments and life styles. The interior design and architectural industry has been leading the charge in sustainable design and reducing the our carbon foot print, but simultaneously generating waste of their own in the process. I want do my part in utilizing and upcycling what would have been discarded and giving it a new life. This could be anything from discontinued or excess samples that vendors creating for marketing, to scraps of materials left over from upholstery and building materials.
