We’re Peigh and Baff, founders of Trapfruits London. Baff is also a footballer and father. Peigh, a swimmer and creative with a finger in all kinds of pineapples. Both Ghanaian and proud Londoners, we grew up on seasonal British classics like apples and cherries and Afro-Caribbean staples, like plantain. So we thought, wouldn't it be sick if we could somehow mix the two cultures and offer it up to everyone in our city, as one convenient drop? We are Fashion Designers and Ministers at The Rock Churches earning the name, The Fashion Preachers. Our New York fashion adventure began when we dropped out of school (not by choice) and interned for Beyonce. After fits and starts, including a lengthy career launching celebrity brands for Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, Trey Songz, Diddy and a lay-off, we relaunched BruceGlen in 2019 with a focus on accessories and introducing The Grenade bag. We've gone full speed ahead with the release of new bags and now the debut of our fully sustainable clothing collection.

In December 2009, I had an opportunity to travel to Kenya for three weeks through a study abroad program for my Master of Science degree in International Public Service from DePaul University. When considering why I chose Kenya, I must be honest and say that it was because I knew that it was only 6 hours away from my homeland, Tanzania and more importantly I will have an opportunity to visit my grandmother. Never in a million years did I think that I would fall in love with Kenya. I visited several women cooperative organizations, but one organization, in particular, stirred up something inside of me; The Kibera Paper Project (KPP) is an organization that makes greeting cards using recycled materials. Meeting the women of Kibera Paper Project changed my life and confirmed the one thing I had always known, which was that in Africa with hope, determination and hard work it can be done. I ended my journey filled with both excitement and frustration because I was confused about the next step. While my trip to East Africa ended, my contribution towards the economic development in Africa was just beginning. As an African woman, I understand my responsibility towards it. Early 2010, I began volunteering with KPP helping the organization sell their cards here in the United States. Within months of selling cards to family members and friends, I realized that my involvement needed a strategic plan. I’m an illustrator, author, and creative mama from Minnesota. I love to dream big and I spend my days crafting whimsical illustrations and uplifting designs. Since childhood, I’ve loved creating art, but I actually started with a career in marketing. I remember sitting down one day thinking of how I had a deep desire to do work that mattered to me. God showed up and in a beautiful way merged my love of encouraging, creating and storytelling with my passion for making art. I worked in the nap-time hours building a small Etsy shop and beginning to share my gift of art with others. Then, 8 months pregnant with a big dream and a spoonful of faith, I opened my art studio full time. wooo…It was one of the biggest leaps of faith that led me into a more fulfilling life, business and relationship with my Creator. I am known for my warm, joyful drawings of women, mothers, my floral work and my hand lettered inspirational quotes. My work is inspired by growing up surrounded by women (4 sisters!) and finding that the beauty of our differences always made us stronger. I also pull inspiration from the diversity of people in our world, honest motherhood, and my walk of faith.
