Mer Des Dieux

Fashion, Clothing, Swim, Men’s, Women’s, Other, Accessories, other
Mer Des Dieux (translated to Sea of Gods) uses imagery, nuance, and motion of the natural aquatic world to create contemporary menswear pieces that, like the wondrous nature of the ocean, bridge the gap between mystery and functionality. MDD was developed by two free-thinking creatives with a hunger to push boundaries. Bred in the turbulent waters of North York Toronto, Andrew Nyarko and Pierre Bimwala grew from childhood friends to business partners, attempting to translate science-fiction fantasies into clothing that spoke to their youthful rebelliousness. Their debut collection titled Diving Only integrates their thirst for knowledge and scientific inquiry with the alien, untapped energy of marine life.

Punkies Pieces

Fashion, Accessories, Jewelry, other
Women Owned, Handmade
Creating has always been an integral part of my life. I find the process of having an idea, planning, (sometimes failing and rethinking), and executing exhilarating. I am always looking to learn new crafts. My life is one big DIY! My art influences have come from so many of my life experiences - pop culture, being a 90's baby, the Lisa Frank era, the color and vibrancy of my hometown Miami, and my love of traveling and culture. I started creating jewelry around 2012 as a way way to balance the stress of college at FAMU. I would sell my jewelry and other art work at my college's weekly martketplace on "the Set." It was such an amazing experience to interact with others about art. As life has it, I graduated, moved to Chicago to get my master's and started teaching. I put so much of myself into my career that I literally had no time to for my art. After about a year or two I found myself just going through motions. I wasn't actually happy and I knew what was missing. After having my great epiphany, I reentered my art space by painting a few pop art pieces. I wanted to find a way to preserve them and came across resin as a coating. Through some experimentation I soon realized its versatility. I made a few pieces of jewelry and a little later Punkie's Pieces was born. I love experimenting with colors, glitters, and other media. I've since left teaching full time and started subbing to have more time to invest in what makes me happy. Why Punkie? The name Punkie was given to me by my grandmother and it's how most of my family addresses me. It reminds me to be as free and vulnerable as the kid I once was. When you wear Punkie's Pieces I want you to feel like your true self. Be expressive, be proud, stand out, and be unapologetic about it!

Siyo Boutique

Women Owned, Handmade
Siyo Boutique is a greeting card brand with a knack for sass, slightly crude humor and blunthenticity (blunt authenticity). With the word becoming so tech savvy, I wanted to take it back to the old school days when people cared enough to write one another. Aside from cards, Siyo Boutique dabbles in prints and will soon be offering other sassy goodies! Founded in 2016, Siyo Boutique is a one woman, girl boss shop! Tyler has been creating and drawing cards since she could grasp a pencil in her little hands. She has always had a witty and sometimes inappropriate sense of humor that would get her in trouble. Now that she is an adult, she uses that sense of humor and wit to bring joy and laughter into the homes of others with her snail mail. If you are interested in wholesale, feel free to hop in my etsy convo and we can discuss pricing and minimums. You can also check out my website, www.siyoboutique.com, where I've made it super easy (a caveman can do it) to buy wholesale! If you are a boutique with the interest of hosting my cards, please don't hesitate to contact me for samples for your store, likewise for bloggers seeking high-res product photos for their blogs.

Working from fuelled passion is something I’ve always desired. No matter what type of work I do, it must come from a place of love and service to others, or it just doesn’t feel right. Four years ago, I decided to make amethyst and white jade beaded bracelets for as thank you gifts for my image consulting clients. The purpose of those bracelets was to act as a daily reminder of self-discovery and self-love to it’s wearer. During this same time, I embarked on my spiritual journey, discovering an overwhelming interest in gemstones and crystals, reiki energy, meditation and yoga. I started seeking guidance and confirmation from the Universe and my spiritual guides. Almost simultaneously, the demand for these beautiful, gemstone bracelets grew and grew. People wanted to share with others the love and light these bracelets possessed, and so, as the universe would have it, Love & Light Jewels was born. To be able to fulfill my duties as a light worker, feed my passion for art and design, and make a sustainable living means the absolute world to me. It is one of my biggest one of my biggest blessings to date. I’m so incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to do what I love daily, and my only hope is that I am able to continue to live this life of passion and purpose and teach my daughters that anything is possible if you simply have faith, be in constant action daily, and always BELIEVE.
