Their Love Started Their Business. Richmond and Bernice had a traditional Ghanaian wedding ceremony in Ghana. Because their friends in the US were not able to attend, they posted pictures from their wedding on Facebook and Instagram throughout the day. The response to their pictures was overwhelming! Although people were happy for the love that they shared, they were equally enamored with the clothing worn during the different ceremonies. Many people sent Bernice requests to bring them back just one authentic item from Ghana, as they knew it would be unlikely that they would ever get to visit Ghana or any other country in Africa. Eager to share the beauty of Ghana with anyone interested in the US, Bernice bought as much stuff as she could before returning to the US. The recipients of the items that she bought commented on how others loved the items she selected and wanted similar items. After a couple of months of careful planning, RNB (Richmond & Bernice) launched their company. Their hope is that you will also love the beautiful designs that come from Ghana and other African countries as much as they do!

La Belle Ivoire was a concept way before it became a fashion line. the name came from the love of my country La Cote d Ivoire and i was called La belle Ivoire since high school 2009. I wanted to create a line that will show the beauty of my country and Africa as a whole. As the African fashion world is growing, I want to make sure that we use most of our traditional fabric and use it in today's world and today fashion language. When teaching, I try to push the love of art to all my students, and give them the tools to change the world through creating. I have always loved art, and found it to be one of my passions. All of my pieces are directly connected to my emotions, and my inner self. I find that my inspiration comes from people around me. I really try to capture their beauty and their emotions.
