nom was born in swaziland and grew up in netherlands. she studied textile design at the charles montaigne fashion academy in amsterdam. after graduating in 1999 she pursued a career as fashion designer for different brands. after 12 year in fashion she embarked on her own creative journey. nom explored different techniques before fully embracing weaving and macrame. as her knowledge and confidents crow she got more and more comfortable leaving things out and thats where her geo wallhangings started to take shape. doing a lot with a little is definitely one of her strengths. that doesn’t necessarily means a ‘less is more’ approach, but nom loves to make things less complicated. simplicity, beauty, and honesty are the essential ingredients in her work.
