Island Fresh Skincare

The Goods

The Deets

Maker of small batch, handcrafted luxury soaps and skincare with a focus on dry and sensitive skin. Made with fewer than ten ingredients from tropical destinations, these products will nurture your skin. I'm a Southern girl at heart and by heritage with parents and ancestors born in rural Georgia. But I was born up North in a community with other Southerns that migrated from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi and other southern locations deemed less desirable at the time. We lived off the land growing fruits and vegetables in our backyard and their was a huge community garden. We also canned for fresh eating during winter months. It was in this environment that I learned the importance of faith, family, and community. Imagine my surprise when I learned I'm the third generation to make soap in the family. While my ancestors needs were purely utilitarian, mine are some what the same but different. There are so many harmful chemicals and additives in skincare that didn't exist when I was growing up. I want to return to the pure and simple of skincare. When you washed your face with soap and water. When I moved to coastal Florida I discovered the power and calm of the ocean, the joy of coastal living, and what fresh, clean air, and the sea spray can do for your skin. As a soapmaker with out direction, Island Fresh Skincare was defined from my morning strolls on the beach. To the creator and my ancestors I say thank you for the gifts. Crafting began for me as a child when my grandmother gave me a potholder loom. The loom was a match that started the fire in me to become a handmade artisan.
