In 2003 the idea for a new Black-owned clothing brand began. The line’s concept embodied the lifestyle and influences of founder Chris Clayton. Clayton’s experiences led to a brand that starts with various streetwear aesthetics. It infuses these aesthetics into classic staples of American sportswear. Then, it gives them a well-tailored construction and fit. Like many others, this Black-owned business experienced many growing pains over the last decade. Still,
Clayton’s vision remained steadfast. He leaned on his educational background in apparel design. He also leveraged his real-world experience with product development. Then, he worked the frontline of fashion, from boutiques to large specialty retailers. He soon decided to step out on his own. Now, he strives to make the brand known for pieces that people can make their own. His focus was to steer clear of the bells and whistles, and create clean, distinguished pieces.
