Blvck Spades playing cards is a customized deck designed for playing JJDD spades. Its creators made it in a way that makes it easier for individuals to learn to play. The owner, E. Mackey, said the idea came to him when he was sitting at home watching TV. He found himself intrigued by a deck of cards he saw on the screen. He had been thinking about his next entrepreneurial move, and it clicked. He would use his creative skills to design a deck. “I said to myself; it can’t just be a deck. It has to be special,” he said. This African American business owner succeeded in designing something special: a deck of cards that look like the players.
