Nautral Skin and Hair Care Products Blackwell’s Body Butter, is my small beauty care company that I'm beyond happy to share with you! Originally, it was never my intention to start a business, as I’ve always worked in the Customer Service and/or Restaurants and Breweries. About 6 years ago, I started crafting and experimenting with skincare recipes as a way to provide loving, meaningful and well thought out gifts to my friends and family to show them how much I care. I started making handmade gifts – body butters, shaving creams, lip balms, soaps etc. My fiancee, Keith, has been and continues to be an integral source of inspiration for all of my products. Keith has fibromyalgia and so many products (skincare, beauty, cleaning, etc) contain fragrance allergens and artificial carriers that trigger his pain response, causing anything from migraines and nausea to flulike symptoms. I started ditching chemically composed skin an hair care products in lieu of carefully researched brands with more organic components, but still had trouble finding him products that he could safely use. I eventually shifted my crafting towards creating these items for ourselves, making recipes free of sulfates, parabens etc, instead focusing on nut butters and oils and essential oils for scent. I found it to be immensely fulfilling to provide useful gifts for my beau while expressing my creativity and DIY spirit. I’m proud to say that he and others in his family with the disorder can safely use my products! Like I mentioned before, it was never my idea to build this crafting love into a business. It didn’t conceptualize until I was invited by a friend and co-worker to participate in a holiday market being held at the brewery for which we work.
