You could say crafting is in my blood, because my family has done so for many generations. Weather it was growing our own food, tending farmland, natural healing, spiritual awareness, or building houses; my ancestors have done it all. I am Cassandra, owner of BFree Organics, born and raised in Los Angeles. After graduating from Aesthetics school in 2012, I launched BFree Organics to the public, May 5, 2012, after many years of crafting products for my friends and family. Using my intuition, knowledge of plants and wellbeing, I formulated BFree Organics for a multitude of reasons. I grew up seeing my paternal family using their natural remedies to heal almost anything under the sun. This taught me from a young age the importance of knowledge of self, being aware of my surroundings and also that plants heal. For them, there was always a quick and easy fix for ailments. And on my maternal side, I grew up seeing my Mother and Grandmother applying the most luxurious creams and oils to their beautiful skin. In many ways, this was not only an act of self care, but also a daily holistic ritual of self love, that I still deeply admire to this day. I can honestly say, I was exposed to the best of both worlds. Being of Indigenous Black-American Choctaw/Seminole decent, I grew up having a connection to the land I grew up on, in the San Bernardino mountain range of Southern California. My paternal grandparents left the city for a small town called, Alta Loma and my Grandmother turned an acre plus of equestrian land into a farm, where she grew over 20 fruit trees, herbs, flowers, veggies and raised animals. Though from the religious South, she had always seemed to be a cosmic force, that brought me so much love, wisdom and otherworldly adventures throughout my childhood. As a young adult, a major shift in my journey was the riding of my eldest sons severe eczema skin condition, over twelve years ago. This came to me as a necessity, after paying so much to dermatologist, that couldn’t seem to figure it out and only had synthetic and toxic recommendations, that my son's skin ultimately became immune to. I had wanted to be an entrepreneur my whole life and I knew after this incredible miracle occurred, that my career as a professional Real Estate Executive was only temporary, and that herbalism and a life of servicing community was my calling. I delve deep into self teachings of herbal studies around 2007 and now I specialize in a variety of skin conditions, such as; eczema, hyperpigmentation and acne, using my 100% organic-nature based formulations. In this healing, I hope to exude my love, divine reverence for life, and old-ways, natural healing into each bottle. Six years ago we decided to leave the city for a more tranquil lifestyle for ourselves and our four children. We reside in majestic Mount Shasta, California and live on 3.5 acres of farm land. Everything by BFree Organics is artisanal made in small-batches, organically grown, and prepared by myself at my residence.
